Pair of outstanding antique handpainted glass vases
Black painted hyalith glass with brown and ocher enamels. Slender spindle shape with brown foot-and neck area. Greek style vases, impasto paint painting with black interior details, neck with meander border.
32 cm. tall. Harrach glassworks painted by Franz Herrmann, overall excellent condition. Late 19 c. Stamped 0143 on the reverse. A slightly smaller pair of vases with the same decor in Passau Glass Museum, see catalog Passau Glass Museum, Volume III, 1995, page 37, with no III.31.
