| Imposing Warrior and King ceramic block bookends by Danish Karl Hansen Reistrup for Kähler, app. 1888. Each bookend is impressed “KHR” on the back and hand incised “HAK” within, the Warrior is also marked in pencil “HAK 124”. The set are covered in a nice ruby red luster glaze, actualized around 1888. This red glaze was well received at the 1889 Paris Exposition and the pottery became world famous. Choice & rare examples. Height of Warrior is 11 1/8 inches, the King is 11 3/8 inches. In good condition.
