Bio:
Jens Harald Quistgaard (1919–2008) was a Danish designer and sculptor and one of the most significant figures in 20th-century Danish design. He served for many years as chief designer for Dansk Designs, founded in 1954 by Ted Nierenberg to introduce Scandinavian design to the American market. Quistgaard worked across a wide range of materials, including steel, wood, glass and ceramics, and his work is characterised by functional clarity, craftsmanship and strong references to Nordic design traditions.
