Bio:
Murano has been a centre of Italian glassmaking since the Middle Ages. The island’s glass furnaces were consolidated in the 13th century and developed highly refined techniques, including gold inclusions, complex colour layering, and sculptural forms. During the mid-20th century, especially in the 1950s to 1970s, Murano gained international recognition for its vibrant and decorative art glass, which remains highly collectible today.
