Bio:
Victor Marec (1862–1920), born Victor Blaise Marrec in Paris, was a French painter and portraitist. He studied under Jean-Léon Gérôme and Jean-Paul Laurens and became a member of the Société des Artistes Français in 1899. Marec worked notably in genre painting, and his works are represented in collections including the Musée d’Orsay, Musée Carnavalet and Nationalmuseum in Stockholm.
