Abstracted landscape executed in oil on board with an expressive and dynamic visual language. The composition is built from broad, energetic strokes in shades of blue, violet, red and pink, with shifting fields of colour creating an atmospheric interpretation of an open and dramatic wilderness landscape. Signed and titled “Vildmark”. Provenance: artists studio.

Bio:
Lars Bertil Bertle (1925–2026) was a Swedish modernist painter from Helsingborg. Largely self-taught, he did not devote himself to painting full-time until the late 1960s. His work is distinguished by vivid colour and an expressive approach, ranging from southern Swedish landscapes, still lifes and figures to strongly abstracted compositions. Bertle is represented in the collection of Helsingborg Museum, which includes, among other works, an abstract oil painting from his Aniara series.
