Bio:
Göta Fogler (1919–1992) was a Swedish painter born in Nässjö. She studied at Skånska målarskolan in Malmö in 1943, under Gotthard Sandberg in Falsterbo in 1945, at Otte Sköld's painting school in Stockholm from 1946 to 1947, and at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière in Paris in 1948. Study trips played an important role in her artistic development, particularly to Spain and the Swedish island of Öland, where she drew inspiration from the landscapes, light and colours. Her artistic practice encompassed landscapes, figurative compositions and still lifes, often characterised by modernist compositions, simplified forms and a sensitive use of colour. Her work is represented in the collection of Jönköpings läns museum, which holds her painting Spanien II from 1962.
