Hyacinth glass, purple colored and with a optical twist
Antique German hyacinth glass, zweibelglas, in a rare manganese color.
Height 21.5 cm.
Hyacinth glass appears in danish glass catalogs around 1840 and appears in Holmegaard's catalogs in 1853 as baluster shaped, optical twisted and in smooth versions.
This hyacinth glass is very much similar to Holmdegaard's "Zweibelglas on foot", but there are some differences that makes me not 100% sure to say this glass is from Holmegaard.
The glass has a bit of a shadow - but now much.
The glass is with a sharp pontil at the bottom, which dates back to the time before 1860.
