Carl Larsson, 1853-1919, svensk maler og lærer ved Valands kunstskole 1886-88 og 1891-93. Samtidig med studier på kunstakademiet i Stockholm (1866-77) arbejdede Larsson som reportagetegner ved Ny Illustrerad Tidning og som bogillustrator. 1877-82 boede han i Barbizon og Paris og 1882-85 i Grèz-sur-Loing. Han var inspireret af Barbizonmalerne, især J.-B.C. Corot, og af rokokoen, som fik afgørende betydning for hans elegante streg. I udsmykningen af loftet i foyeren i Dramatiska teatern i Stockholm (1905) spores tillige en indflydelse fra salonmalere som A. Besnard.
