A pair of tiles from the 1910'ish

Price: 900.- DKK per pair

Length 24-25 cm.
Width 22-22,5 cm.

The tiles are not the same size.
The tiles are decorated with classic jugend decoration. A symmetrical pattern and flowers that twist around this. In the middle a rose is seen, where the pattern spreads out. The pattern is the same on the two tiles despite their different size.

The tiles have several chips, please see the pictures.

Tiles like these have been used to coat the furnace, hence the name tile stove.
They helped keep the heat so that the oven could heat the room a long time after the fire had went out, eg overnight. Hence their hollow backside that contained air that was heated.

Tiles like these are often produced at Herman A Kählers factory in Næstved.
