Unique Mussel painted vase from Royal Copenhagen

Price: 3,500.- DKK per item

Length 20 cm.
Width 7 cm.
Height 7.5 cm.

The vase is in an unusual angular shape, a rhombus.

It is not porcelain but much more similar to stoneware, hence the greyish colour.

It is labeled "Opus Scholasticum". The stamp was used in the period around 1950 to 1980 on unique works carried out in the red villa on the corner of Søndre Fasanvej and Smallegade by selected employees who showed a high technical level. Here they worked according to the Persian style and let the blue fluted pattern be more free and let insects be included.

This vase has a bee on the side.

The vase is in perfect condition with a few original firing cracks on the outside.
