The Herend Porcelain Manufactory in Hungary was founded in 1826 and is renowned for its fine hand-painted porcelain. One of its most famous patterns is “Queen Victoria,” designed in 1851 for the Great Exhibition in London, where Queen Victoria purchased a dinner service in this pattern—hence the name. The decoration consists of colorful butterflies and flowers inspired by Chinese porcelain, and it remains one of Herend’s most iconic and popular designs.
