Five pieces consisting of a plate, a bowl with incised pattern and motif of a raccoon, a round lidded box, and two egg cups. Executed in varying shades of yellow/orange uranium glaze.
Dating: 1930s/40s.
Dimensions: Egg cups approx. 5 × 5 cm. Lidded box D. approx. 6.5 cm, H. approx. 3.5 cm. Plate D. approx. 14.5 cm. Bowl D. approx. 11 cm, H. approx. 3 cm.
Condition: Generally very good condition with minor glaze chips and signs of use.
Short biography of Kähler: Kähler was founded in 1839 in Næstved by Herman J. Kähler and was taken over in 1875 by his son Herman A. Kähler, who developed the company into one of Denmark’s most renowned ceramic manufacturers. Kähler is particularly known for its distinctive glazes, including uranium glaze, and for collaborations with artists, which have made their works sought after among collectors.
