Just Andersen. Two pewter vases, model 1457. Denmark, 1940s.
Slim vases in cast pewter with circular foot, drop-shaped body and slender neck ending in a flared, undulating rim. Both marked JUST in triangle, Denmark and model number 1457.
H. 15 cm. D. 6 cm.
Condition: Signs of use, patina.
Bio: Just Andersen (1884–1943) was a Danish sculptor and designer, internationally renowned for his work in pewter, bronze and the self-developed alloy disko metal. His simple and sculptural forms, often inspired by classicism and functionalism, are today sought-after collector’s items.
