Bio:
Åke Holm (1900–1980) was a Swedish sculptor, ceramicist, and printmaker active in Höganäs. While best known for his stoneware and religiously inspired ceramic works, he also produced a number of striking woodcuts and linocuts. Holm’s art was deeply rooted in classical and biblical themes, which he interpreted in a simplified, powerful style with geometric and archaic qualities. His works are represented in several Swedish museums and are regarded as important contributions to Swedish modernism.
