Bio:
Jørgen Teik Hansen (b. 1947) studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, beginning in 1969. He was part of the artist collective Violet Sol, where a passion for strong colors carried forward the expressionist tradition in Denmark during the 1970s and 1980s. He describes himself as an existential painter, using the human figure as a mediator in a rhythmic, expressive visual language that reflects both the pulse of the city and the open horizons of the landscape. His works are represented in the Danish Arts Foundation, Ny Carlsberg Foundation, Tranegården, the Royal Collection of Prints and Drawings, as well as in several Danish and international collections.
