Very large leaf-shaped ceramic dish decorated with Simmulson’s characteristic incised pattern in light tones against a brown ground. Hand-painted with elegant, organic linework.

Bio:
Mari Simmulson (1911–2000) was one of Upsala Ekeby’s most prominent designers. Her works from the 1950s and 60s are known for hand-painted decoration, graphic linework, and organic forms inspired by nature and modern art. Many of her larger dishes and bowls were produced in limited numbers and are now highly collectible.
