Bio:
Gunnar Nylund was one of the most influential Scandinavian ceramic designers of the 20th century and served as artistic director at Rörstrand from 1931 to 1955. He is renowned for his organic forms and innovative glazes, including “Birch Wood,” “Hare’s Fur,” and various ash glazes. Nylund’s work combines refined functionality with a deep sensitivity to surface, material, and natural inspiration, and his Rörstrand pieces are today considered key works of Swedish modernist ceramics.
