Richard Manz, unique vase.
Sculptural vase in thrown stoneware with a strong, architectural silhouette. Finished with a glossy glaze in deep blue tones to the lower section and a red-violet upper field, characteristic of experimental Scandinavian studio ceramics from the 1960s. The stepped central section adds a pronounced modernist expression.

Bio:
Richard Manz (1933–1999) was a German–Swedish–Danish ceramic artist, married to ceramic artist Bodil Manz. He trained as a potter and stove maker in Germany in 1950 and emigrated to Sweden in 1954, where he ran his own workshop from 1961 to 1965.
From 1967 until his death, he worked in Denmark, sharing a workshop with Bodil Manz.
