Bio:
Oiva Toikka (1931–2019) was one of Finland’s most significant glass designers, celebrated in particular for his imaginative, organic bird sculptures produced in collaboration with the Nuutajärvi glassworks. The series became an icon of Finnish modernism and studio glass, where freeform shaping, layered colour, and subtle hand-made variation give each bird an individual character.
