Bio:
Johan Thomas Lundbye (1 September 1818 – 26 April 1848) was a Danish painter and graphic artist known for his animal and landscape paintings. He was inspired by the call to develop nationalistic art through depictions of Denmark’s characteristic landscapes, historical buildings, and simple rural people, and became one of the national romantic painters of his generation, regularly depicting the landscape of Zealand.
