Wood & Sons was founded in Staffordshire in 1865 and became an important part of English faience production in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The factory is particularly known for its detailed transferware decoration with historical, pastoral and architectural scenes. The Olde Country series name was used for traditional tableware and serving pieces with a distinctly classic character. Today, these works are appreciated for their solid quality and traditional English design.
