Organically shaped stoneware bowl with an asymmetrical, free-form silhouette. Decorated with a blue and violet glaze with a warm-toned rim, characteristic of Gunnar Nylund’s experimental glazes at Rörstrand in the mid-20th century. First factory quality.

Bio:
Gunnar Nylund (1904–1997) was a Swedish ceramic artist and designer. He served as artistic director at Rörstrand from 1931 to 1955 and was a key figure in Scandinavian modernism. Nylund is renowned for his organic forms and experimental glazes in stoneware, which are considered highlights of twentieth-century Nordic ceramic design.
