Bio:
Birger Kaipiainen (1915–1988) was a Finnish ceramic artist and designer, regarded as one of the most important artists associated with Arabia. He studied at the Central School of Applied Arts in Helsinki and worked at Arabia from 1937 onward. Kaipiainen is especially known for his richly decorated works with figurative and ornamental motifs, and his unique pieces are considered among the finest examples of twentieth-century Finnish ceramic art.
