Unique ceramic sculpture depicting a pony executed in stoneware with a light glaze decorated with blue and brown tonal accents in a spontaneous painterly pattern. The figure is modelled with a natural posture and detailed mane and head, giving the piece a lively and expressive character. Unsigned unique work from the 1970s.

Nils-Erik Zetterström was a Swedish ceramic artist and designer active during the mid-20th century. He produced both unique art pieces and functional ceramics and was recognised for his skilled craftsmanship and distinctive artistic language. His work is often characterised by balanced proportions, clean lines and naturalistic glazes in muted tones. Zetterström experimented with both form and surface, creating objects ranging from elegant vessels to sculptural works with a strong artistic presence. Today his ceramics are sought after by collectors and appreciated for their technical quality and their place within Swedish ceramic art.
