Organically shaped art glass bowl in green glass with controlled air bubbles and softly undulating rim, characteristic of Murano glass from the mid-20th century.
Origin: Italy.
Material: Glass.

Condition: Excellent condition with minor signs of wear.
Bio:
Murano is an island in the Venetian Lagoon and has been the centre of Italian glassmaking since the late 13th century. In 1291 the Venetian authorities ordered glass furnaces to move from Venice to Murano to protect the valuable secrets of glass production and reduce fire risks in the city. Murano quickly developed into one of Europe’s most important centres for art glass. During the 20th century the island’s glass workshops became internationally recognised for modern art glass featuring organic forms, vibrant colours and decorative techniques such as controlled air bubbles.
