Bio:
Gunnar Fohlin (1924–1998) was a Swedish painter, printmaker and craftsman. He worked with both figurative and abstract expressions and employed media such as drawing, gouache, printmaking and painting on paper. His works are often characterised by a simplified yet expressive use of colour and rhythmic compositions where landscape forms are reduced to fields of colour and structure. Fohlin exhibited widely in Sweden during the second half of the twentieth century and formed part of the broader development of Scandinavian modernism.
