Bio:
Sigvard Marius Hansen (1859–1938) was a Danish painter, partly trained at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen from 1876 to 1883, and initially apprenticed as a porcelain painter at Aluminia. He is best known for his atmospheric landscapes and interior scenes, often characterised by an idyllic and naturalistic style. Hansen was among the founders of the Ørnebjerg artists’ colony near Rebild and gained recognition in his lifetime for his technical skill and sensitive handling of light and mood.
