Karl Hansen Reistrup for Kähler, frog with lid.
Naturalistically shaped frog executed in glazed ceramic with removable lid, decorated in a deep pink glaze with light crackle effects. The model functions as both a decorative object and a small lidded container from Kähler’s artistic production in the late nineteenth century.

Bio:
Karl Hansen Reistrup (1847–1913) was a Danish ceramicist and sculptor, known for his work at the Kähler workshop in Næstved. He played a key role in the development of Danish art ceramics in the late nineteenth century, working with naturalistic and historicist motifs. His works range from sculptural figures to decorative objects and are highly sought after by collectors today.
