Alvar Aalto (1898–1976) was a Finnish architect and designer, internationally recognised as one of the most important figures in modernism and Scandinavian design. His collaboration with Iittala produced some of the 20th century’s most iconic glass designs, characterised by organic forms inspired by Finland’s lakes and natural landscapes.
