Decorative stoneware vase, model 4167, with a striking funnel-shaped silhouette and hand-decorated linear pattern. The vase combines sculptural form with graphic decoration, a hallmark of Mari Simmulsons work during the 1960s.

Bio:
Mari Simmulson (1911–2000) was a Swedish ceramic artist and designer born in Saint Petersburg. She worked for Upsala Ekeby from 1949 until 1972 and created some of the companys most artistic ceramic models. Her work is recognised for organic forms, decorative reliefs and distinctive patterns that combine craftsmanship with modern design. Today she is regarded as one of the most important Scandinavian ceramic designers of the twentieth century.
