Very large and heavy decorative vase crafted in solid alabaster with carved ornamental details and natural veining throughout the stone. A striking example of Italian craftsmanship from the period.

Bio:
Italian alabaster production flourished during the mid-20th century, particularly around Volterra in Tuscany, where artisans refined the craft of carving and polishing alabaster over generations. The material’s distinctive translucency and soft texture made it highly sought after for decorative vases, sculptures and lighting, many of which were exported worldwide.
