Bio:
Jerker Helander (1920–2000) was a Swedish painter and illustrator. He studied at the School of Book and Advertising Art in Stockholm from 1940 to 1943 and further developed his artistic practice through independent study and travels, including visits to Denmark and Norway. From 1948, he participated almost annually in exhibitions organised by the Dalsland Art Association in Åmål, as well as the association’s exhibitions at Gothenburg Art Gallery, and held a solo exhibition in Åmål in 1949. Alongside his work as a fine artist, Helander also worked as an illustrator and produced book covers for several Swedish publishing houses.
