Bio:
Bert Johnny Nilsson (1934–2004) was a Swedish painter, illustrator and printmaker trained in the graphic arts. He is best known for his surreal compositions, combining poetic, dreamlike imagery with symbolism and a distinctly theatrical atmosphere. In his later career, his work increasingly explored cosmic themes and visionary landscapes infused with existential and apocalyptic undertones. His works are represented in several major Swedish museum collections, including the Moderna Museet in Stockholm, Malmö Museum, Västerås Art Museum, Norrköping Art Museum and Ystad Art Museum.
