Bio:
Central European majolica manufacturers gained international recognition during the late 19th and early 20th centuries for their vividly coloured lead-glazed ceramics. Their production often drew inspiration from Rococo and Baroque styles, combined with naturalistic decoration. Large ornamental centerpieces and jardinieres such as this were highly fashionable decorative objects in elegant homes during the early twentieth century.
