Modernist cityscape executed in oil on canvas with a light, subdued palette of grey, blue, green and ochre tones. The composition is constructed from simplified architectural forms and broad, textured brushwork. Unsigned.

Bio:
Pierre Forssell (1925–2004) was a Swedish artist, designer and silversmith. He began his studies at Konstfack in Stockholm in decorative painting, where his fellow students included Bengt Lindström, before transferring to the silversmithing department. Forssell later became an important figure in Swedish modernist design through his work for companies including Gense and Skultuna. His early training in painting formed part of his artistic background and reflects the broad visual approach that later characterised his design work.
