Bio:
Louis Zelig (Vasile Zelig, 1922–1993) was a Romanian-born Swedish painter and graphic artist who settled in Sweden in 1945. He studied art in Budapest and later continued his training at the Skånska Målarskolan in Malmö. Zelig worked across figurative, expressionist, and abstract idioms, frequently employing a strong sense of colour and energetic brushwork. Harbours, sailing boats, coastal views, urban scenes, and still lifes recur throughout his work. He exhibited extensively in Sweden and internationally, and his work is represented in the collection of Trelleborgs Museum.
