Unique hand-modelled ceramic figure depicting an elderly man with a hat and walking stick, finished with a glossy lustre glaze in deep red, violet, bluish and metallic tones. The model is signed JP.

Condition: Excellent condition with minor signs of wear.
Bio:
Jens Petersen (1890–1956) was a Danish ceramicist based in Esbjerg. He worked closely with his uncle, ceramicist Søren Kongstrand, and developed his own distinctive style using experimental lustre glazes and sculptural motifs. Petersen is particularly known for unique ceramic and stoneware works, and his pieces are often signed with the initials JP. His work is represented in the collection of Esbjerg Museum.
