Bio:
Ulrica Hydman Vallien (1938–2018) was a Swedish artist, ceramicist and glass artist educated at Konstfack in Stockholm. She became associated with Åfors Glassworks in the early 1970s and later worked for Kosta Boda, where she became one of the company’s most distinctive artists. Her characteristic visual language included strong colours, freely drawn lines and recurring motifs such as tulips, faces and snakes. Her decorative glass designs achieved wide international recognition and established her as a central figure in modern Swedish glass art.
