Decorative figure of a standing cow executed in glazed ceramic, hand-painted in cobalt blue on a white ground with stylised flowers, foliage and ornamental details. Marked to the underside.

Bio:
Delft ceramics are particularly recognised for their characteristic blue decoration on a white ground, a tradition rooted in 17th-century Dutch attempts to emulate Chinese porcelain. Around the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the historic Delft style enjoyed renewed popularity, with numerous Dutch ceramic manufacturers producing decorative objects incorporating traditional floral, foliate and scrolling motifs.
