Bio:
Alfredo Barbini (1912–2007) was an Italian glass artist and a central figure in 20th-century Murano glassmaking. During his career, he worked for several important glassworks, including Zecchin-Martinuzzi, Seguso Vetri d’Arte and Gino Cenedese, before establishing his own glassworks in 1950. Barbini became particularly renowned for substantial sculptural forms and his experimental treatment of glass mass, colour and surface.
