Rare porcelain bowl with fluted body, scalloped rim and hand-painted cobalt blue decoration. Model 1/191. Factory-cancelled with one incised line through the factory mark, for no obvious reasons.

Royal Copenhagen was founded in Copenhagen in 1775 as The Danish Porcelain Factory. Blue Fluted Plain is the factory’s oldest decoration and has been part of its production since the foundation. The service is distinguished by its hand-painted cobalt blue decoration following the fluted form of the porcelain and carries pattern number 1.
