Biography:
Kaj Franck (1911–1989) was one of Finland’s most influential designers and a central figure in post-war Finnish design. Working with both glass and ceramics, he was renowned for his consistent exploration of fundamental forms, proportions, and the inherent qualities of materials. Franck created numerous designs for Iittala and achieved widespread international recognition for his work. His design philosophy was characterized by simplicity, functionality, and a deliberate reduction to the essential elements.
