Bio:
Arne Bang (1901–1983) was a Danish sculptor and ceramicist and a significant figure in 20th-century Danish stoneware. He studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and early in his career worked with his brother, glass designer Jacob E. Bang. From the 1930s, Arne Bang operated his own ceramics studio, producing both functional and sculptural works. His production is characterised by robust, modelled forms and distinctive glazes in subdued earthy tones.
