Bio:
Georg Baselitz (1938–2026) was one of the most significant German artists of the post-war period, working across painting, sculpture, drawing and printmaking. He became internationally known for his expressive figurative language and, particularly from the late 1960s, for presenting subjects upside down, shifting attention from narrative content toward the formal construction of the image. Printmaking formed an important part of his practice, encompassing extensive experimentation with lithography, woodcut and intaglio techniques. During the 1990s, Baselitz produced numerous colour lithographs and colour woodcuts, often issued in small numbered editions.
