Bio:
Per F. Engström is a Swedish artist whose watercolours from the 1970s display a colourful and stylised visual language influenced by modernist geometric abstraction. In this work, bird motifs are combined with abstract colour fields and dynamic lines, transforming natural forms into decorative compositions. The artwork reflects an artistic interest in the relationship between figurative subjects, strong colour contrasts and simplified shapes.
