Trained as a graphic artist at the School of Arts and Crafts in Copenhagen, Wiinblad rose to prominence in the 1940s and later gained international fame, especially in Germany and the United States. His works are characterized by imaginative figures, floral patterns, and rich colors, often inspired by fairy tales and Oriental art. In addition to his many decorative projects, he ran his own studio, the Blue House in Lyngby, which today serves as a museum.
