Ulla Procopé (1921–1968) was a Finnish ceramic artist and designer who worked at Arabia from 1948 until her death in 1968. She is best known for her functional, timeless stoneware designs that combine simplicity, quality, and everyday usability.
One of her most beloved collections is Anemone, introduced in the 1960s. It was made from durable glazed stoneware and is characterized by its hand-painted cobalt blue stripes and brush decorations, giving each piece a unique character. Anemone became a popular everyday tableware set in many Nordic homes due to its beauty and practicality.
Procopé had a unique talent for blending aesthetics with function, making her a key figure in Arabia’s success with stoneware during the mid-20th century.
