Short biography of Holmegaard: Holmegaard Glassworks was founded in 1825 and developed into Denmark’s leading producer of art and utility glass. In the mid-20th century, Holmegaard distinguished itself with leading glass designers of the era and series such as Vipstjert, which combined functional everyday use with elegant, organic forms. The series was designed by Per Lütken, who served as chief designer from 1942 to 1998 and created many of Holmegaard’s most iconic pieces. Today, Holmegaard is an icon of Danish design and sought after by collectors.
