Black-and-white woodcut depicting three regal figures whose bodies are shaped as large vessels. Decorative details in their attire and crowns are rendered in a simple, graphic style. Signed lower right “Åke Holm”.

A characteristic graphic work by Åke Holm, where humor, religious and figurative motifs meet in a simple, expressive form.

Bio: Åke Holm (1900–1980) was a Swedish ceramicist and printmaker, trained at Höganäs. He worked with both stoneware and prints, often using biblical and figurative motifs stylized in a powerful decorative form. His works are represented in several Nordic museums and are today highly sought-after among collectors of Scandinavian applied arts.
